Employee wellbeing
An employee wellbeing programme that starts with a text
A practical employee wellbeing programme for New Zealand and Australian teams: personalised SMS check-ins, triage to your professional support, and anonymous trends for leaders. It works with your EAP. There is no app to download. You can try it with up to 10 staff for two weeks.
What employee wellbeing means here
Employee wellbeing is the day-to-day question of whether people can keep doing the work and still have a way to say when they are not OK. Many organisations already have a poster, a portal or an employee assistance programme. Those matter. They also wait for someone to go looking. WellbeingSolutions reaches out first, by name, on the phone a person already carries.
The programme is built for schools, care, retail, offices and other workplaces where the people who need a check-in are not sitting in one room. A teacher after the last bell, a carer after handover, a night-fill supervisor and an office manager can all answer the same kind of message. The question is simple. The follow-up is handled by people, not left in a group chat.
This is not a clinical service. It asks a Yes or No, triages a request for support, and shows leaders only anonymous totals.
How an SMS check-in works
You choose the group, the wording and the timing. A message goes out by name. A typical question asks if the person is OK, or if they need support. They reply Yes or No. Yes is acknowledged. No is triaged so your professional support can follow up. Staff do not download an app, create a password or leave the messaging app they already use.
You can send a regular check-in, or one after a hard day, a restructure, a storm or a busy trading weekend. The same pattern works for a team of ten and for a much larger workforce, with published prices on the pricing page rather than a quote hidden behind a form. Small Team pricing for a Workplace or SME under 20 staff starts at $995 a year on a 3-year agreement. Other sizes are priced there too.
Messages can be scheduled around shifts. If coverage is poor, the text waits until the phone is back in range. That suits drivers, field crews and anyone whose day is not spent at a desk. It also suits an office, because a private reply is easier than raising a hand in an open plan.
Triage to professional support
A check-in only helps if a No goes somewhere useful. Replies are triaged. People who ask for support are connected to the professional support your organisation chooses: your EAP, your counsellors, or another provider you name. Clinical services and availability are agreed separately from the technology. We confirm any extra cost for arranged support in a proposal before you start.
AI-4U is a navigation chat. In New Zealand you can include it. It guides people toward NZ helplines and your own support. It does not provide counselling, diagnosis, treatment or emergency care. It is not the same as EAP. In Australia, AI-4U is not part of the pilot. The Australian pilot is SMS check-ins. AI-4U navigation is included in the full service.
If someone needs urgent help, the programme is not an emergency service. In New Zealand, emergency is 111 and 1737 is free to call or text, any time. In Australia, emergency is 000 and Lifeline is 13 11 14, any time.
Anonymous trends for leaders
Leaders need a picture of the workforce without reading anyone’s story in a meeting. Leadership reporting shows engagement and themes in aggregate. A principal, a store manager or a people lead can see whether a week was heavy for a group. They do not see the personal reply. That split is what makes staff willing to answer.
The trends are a prompt for action you already own: rostering, workload, a conversation with your support provider, or a closer look through a psychosocial risk assessment. The assessment is a separate add-on, informed by ISO 45003 guidance. It is not ISO certification. Details and prices are on the psychosocial and pricing pages.
Works with the support you already have
You do not have to throw out an EAP, a school counselling pathway or a care provider’s own process. The text is the front door. Your professional support remains the help. Profiles, follow-up and what each role can see are agreed up front, so a manager is not handed clinical notes.
Contractors and dispersed teams can be included when you choose those groups. Participation in a check-in should stay voluntary. Replies should not be used for recruitment, disciplinary or performance decisions. Say that clearly when you launch, and people are more likely to answer honestly.
Where teams start
A free 2-week pilot covers up to 10 staff. There is no app, and check-ins can be live within 24 hours once your setup details are confirmed. Kevin replies within one business day. Use the short form on this page, or the longer form on the pilot page if you want to add a role, a mobile number and a start date.
If you want to see the shape of the offer first, check your price. The psychosocial risk assessment has 50% off year 1 on a 3-year agreement until 11:59pm NZDT, Tuesday 15 December 2026. The all-in bundle, for sites of up to 100 staff and for that same limited time, is on the pricing page.
Read more for schools, retail and care. The wider offer is on pricing, the assessment is on psychosocial risk, and the trial is on the pilot page.
Questions about the programme
Does this take the place of our EAP?
No. The programme works with the professional support you already use, or with support we arrange and confirm with you before you start. A reply that asks for help is triaged to that support. AI-4U, where it is included, only helps people find helplines and professional support. It is not counselling.
Do staff need an app?
No. Check-ins are text messages on the phone they already have. Replies are free for staff once your organisation is connected to its communication provider. There is no login to remember.
Who can see what a person wrote?
Leaders see anonymous trends. The people authorised to follow up see the reply so it can be triaged. Please ask staff not to include health information in the text.
Is the Australian pilot the same as New Zealand?
The free 2-week pilot covers up to 10 staff in both countries. In New Zealand it can include AI-4U navigation, left unticked unless you choose it. In Australia the pilot is SMS check-ins. AI-4U is part of the full service in Australia, not the pilot.
