What we hear

The pressures behind the role.

Remote and isolated

Crews work far from home, colleagues and services, often with patchy coverage and long stretches away.

Shifts, rosters and FIFO

Long shifts and time away make it hard to start a conversation, and many workers have no work email.

Exposure to serious events

Frontline, security and emergency teams can face aggression, serious incidents and traumatic events as part of the job.

SMS check-in

Check in. Hear back. Get help to the right person.

  • Checking people are safe, and connecting them to help: that’s the purpose. Every reply is acknowledged, so they know they’ve been heard.
  • Ask for support, and a professional will be in touch: anyone who asks for support is connected to your organisation’s approved professional support.
  • Your questions, your answers: Write your own questions and answers – Yes/No, multiple choice or anything you need. Each answer leads to the right next step.
  • Support that remembers: the professional can see earlier conversations, not just the latest one, so nobody has to start their story again. Next steps and follow-ups are recorded, and every action is logged.
  • Professional support can see past check-ins, so they can spot patterns and prioritise who needs help first.
  • Ready for emergencies and business continuity: safety check-ins are written in advance. Reach out to your people quickly, check everyone is safe, and connect anyone who needs help.
  • The right message to the right people: personalised by name, sent to everyone or to one crew, site, roster or region, now or scheduled. Staff pay nothing for the texts, and there’s no app or login.
  • Leadership reporting, trends not names: leaders see anonymised trends, updated daily, to guide support and training. Only approved professional support sees personal details.

Solutions are scoped to your environment. Confidential Psychosocial Risk Assessment add-on (per year, excl GST): $2,995 up to 100 staff, $4,495 for 101-249 staff, quote for 250+. 50% off year 1 on a 3-year agreement until 15 Dec 2026. Not part of the free pilot. Wellbeing check-ins complement your operational safety and emergency procedures, and responses are never used for site-access, performance or disciplinary decisions.

AI-4U

A little unsure? Start here.

AI-4U is online chat you can type in, or listen to with text-to-speech. It’s a navigational tool: it guides people to NZ helplines and to your organisation’s own professional support. It’s confidential, except where someone’s safety is at risk. It isn’t counselling, a clinical service or an emergency service. Voice calls are an optional add-on for businesses.

After a hard shift or a serious incident, crews can use AI-4U at any time to find support. It’s online chat, so it needs internet access.

AI-4U can guide people to their organisation’s own support, or 1737 after hours.

Example: a serious incident on a remote site

  1. A serious incident happens on a remote site. A safety check-in is already written.
  2. The site manager reaches out to everyone on that site and roster quickly: “Are you safe?”
  3. Every reply is acknowledged. Anyone who needs help is connected to your approved professional support, who will be in touch, with any earlier conversations to hand.
  4. Follow-up check-ins go out over the following days. Next steps are recorded and missed follow-ups escalated, and leaders see trends across sites, not names.

A few useful answers

Clear from the start.

Does this replace our emergency procedures?

No. Check-ins sit alongside your operational safety and emergency procedures. They help you check people are safe and connect anyone who needs help.

What about crews with poor coverage?

SMS needs mobile coverage. Messages arrive when people are back in range, and check-ins can be scheduled around shifts and rotations.

Can contractors be included?

Yes, on a voluntary basis. Nothing a contractor shares affects site entry.

Will staff actually reply?

It’s a text, there’s no app, it’s free to reply, and it takes seconds.

Need help right now? In an emergency call 111. To talk to a trained counsellor, free call or text 1737, any time.

In Australia: call 000 in an emergency, or Lifeline on 13 11 14.
